Roof Terrace Garden
We worked closely with a developer, with whom we have completed several high-end projects, to create a stunning new roof terrace garden for a renovated first floor city apartment opposite Harrods in London. One of the key features of the roof terrace was a large bio-ethanol built-in fireplace, centred on a generous lounging area.
Boundaries were extended to provide privacy from the surrounding apartments by the installation of slatted cedar screens, topped with artificial Buxus hedging, for easy maintenance. Bamboo and sliver birch trees were planted in large metal containers to soften the terrace and give additional privacy.
The roof terrace before
The roof terrace was unloved and contained several large, poorly pruned trees, in rusty and broken plant pots. At the rear of the terrace there was a brick building that had been used as a shed, perfect for conversion into a garden office.
CGI concept image
SketchUp was used to create a 3D CGI image of how the roof terrace would look after the renovation work had been carried out. The image was used to help the developer gain funds from investors for the project.
